Episode 150 | Personal Conviction vs. Biblical Commands with Jamie Erickson: Our personal convictions can refine our faith because they can act as moorings to help us stand firm in today’s world. They give us a moral foundation in this culture of chaos. We will answer personally for whatever conviction the Spirit has given to us, and we have to let our brothers and sisters do the same.

Episode 147 | Holidays with Difficult Relatives: God has graciously given us commands for how to interact with difficult people. He calls Christians to be prayerful, patient, and peacemakers. When we pray and present our requests to God with thankful and expectant hearts, He changes our perspective and it becomes less about us and more about what God wants to do in and through us. As ambassadors of Christ, we are called to represent our Lord by showing grace, mercy, love, and kindness. Let’s commit ourselves to praying for God to fill us with peace and grace as we seek to love others well for His glory.

Episode 145 |Overcoming Mom Guilt: In measuring our self-worth in accordance with our own performances as moms, we not only struggle with guilt, but we miss out on experiencing the peace and rest of who we truly are in Christ. When we set our attention and affection on the redemptive work of Jesus, our hearts become so filled with his love for us and our love for him that there’s no room for guilt. Our worth is based solely on Jesus and the atoning work He has done on our behalf. Our identity is found in Christ alone!

Episode 143 | The Curse of Words with J. Josh Smith: Almost every word we say is either a blessing or a curse, and most of us have heard a ton of “you are” statements that are not true but they’ve defined us. Children need to hear “you’re mine, I love you, and I’m pleased with you.” Let’s make it a point to encourage our children and help them find their identity in Jesus Christ.

Episode 141 | When Kids Bicker: When children learn to seek the Lord to resolve arguments and conflict biblically, their hearts are softened and awakened to the transforming power of the Gospel. Let’s encourage our kids to work through arguments, conflicts, and differences with kindness, gentleness, humility, and a willingness to put the interests of others above their own. When they struggle with pride and selfishness, let’s teach them to turn to Jesus. Help them understand that as they draw strength from the Lord and “bear with one another in love,” they’ll enjoy closer and more blessed relationships that honor God.

Episode 138 | Ask Ginger: Whining, Disobeying, and Sibling Jealousy: It’s important to make sure our children have a clear understanding of what biblical obedience is, and anything other than that is disobedience. And when it comes to sibling jealousy, plan some one-on-one time, give special jobs to your “helper,” but also be sure to set boundaries. Whether we’re helping our children learn to obey or making efforts to spend individual time with our kids, let’s do it with hearts that are full of gratitude for the great things God has done. A thankful heart is a happy heart!
